For Our Patients

This guide will answer many of the questions you may have if you require diagnostic, medical, surgical or emergency care at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

We understand that entering a hospital can be confusing and overwhelming for patients and their loved ones. That is why we place great importance on being a "family-centered" hospital. Our staff is committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care to each and every one of our patients and is also sensitive and responsive to the issues facing their families and support network.

Knowing as much as possible beforehand can help ease stress. Use this guide to familiarize yourself with the hospital before your scheduled procedure, whether it is for outpatient services or inpatient care. You will find directions and parking information and what you will need to bring with you. If you are scheduled for surgery, you will be able to review the general process, from admission to recovery. We also inform you about a wide range of topics such as information about meals, television and visiting hours. Finally, you'll learn about such services as Patient Relations and Pastoral Care that accommodate the many practical and emotional needs of our patients and their families.
