Jeffrey P. Greenfield, M.D., Ph.D., joins the faculty of the Department of Neurological Surgery on July 1, 2009 as an Assistant Professor in Neurological Surgery. Specializing in pediatric neurosurgery, Dr. Greenfield completed his Chief Residency in the department. He obtained his M.D. and Ph.D. from the Weill Cornell Medical College and Graduate School of Medical Sciences. He completed his neurosurgery residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, as well as a clinical fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, one of North America's premier fellowship programs.
Dr. Greenfield will play an integral role in providing care to children with neurosurgical disorders at the Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children's Health. In addition, he will direct a basic science research laboratory studying the interplay between stem cells and pediatric brain tumors.
